2021 Scholarship and Grant Applications Are Now Being Accepted

APPLICATION SUBMITTAL DEADLINE: APRIL 15 AWRA Florida has a mission to support education through the Rosanne Clementi Education Program and awards scholarships and grants to Florida undergraduate and graduate college or university students, high school seniors, pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, and environmental education centers.

The Sanford N. Young Scholarship is designed to provide funding for one (1) $3,000 scholarship for an exceptional water resources graduate student. The William V. Storch Student Award is available to graduate and undergraduate water resources students. In 2021, up to four (4) $1,500 awards are available to graduate students and up to three (3) $1,500 awards are available to undergraduate students.

The Buddy & Laura Blain High School Scholarship is available to exceptional Florida high school seniors who have an intent to pursue academic studies at a Florida college or university. At least one (1) $1,000 scholarship is available each year. The J.B. Butler Science Grant is available to pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers and/or environmental education centers to aid in water resources education. Up to six (6) $1,000 grants are awarded each year. Join Florida Project Learning Tree for a FREE virtual professional development training experience

Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood Virtual Professional Development Training

Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 4:00-6:00 p.m. EST

The training experience includes two parts:

Part 1: Participate in a 2 hour webinar to discover ideas for integrating nature based exploration, art, literature, math, music, movement, and outdoor learning into early childhood education programs, while building literacy skills and environmental appreciation.

Part 2: Complete a self paced online course and receive a certificate of completion.

All participants will receive an electronic and hard copy of PLT’s Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood guide correlated to the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for ages 3-4 years and 4 years-Kindergarten.

Dear Environmental Education Providers, Partners and Stakeholders,

 We would like to invite you to participate in an exciting project we are launching in partnership with the Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance to conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis of environmental education in the southeast states.  We would appreciate your time in sharing and/or filling out the following survey designed for environmental education programs and service providers by Friday, April 2nd.  

Organizations that respond will be listed as part of a state and regional landscape of environmental education programs and services. This analysis will take a comprehensive look at the scope of environmental education offerings available, trends in the field, and operational shifts.  By better understanding the important work being done in the southeast, we can identify gaps and barriers to access, as well as opportunities for service providers to partner with one another to advance our collective efforts toward environmental literacy.   

For this phase of the project, we are focused primarily on environmental education program and service providers. Questions relate to organizational operations, audiences served, programming themes, and services to better understand environmental education and engagement in the southeast. This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.  This is a two-part survey.  After you complete the first part of the survey, you will have the opportunity to complete a survey of each of your individual programs or to group these into one survey.
