The League of Environmental Educators in Florida Seeks an Executive Director

We are looking for a part time executive director to contribute and continue the great work and inspire and represent the organization. This person will be responsible for the daily operations and supporting the organizational goals and work plans. The Executive Director will serve part-time, approximately 15-20 hours per week, performing duties assigned by the executive board. The position is for a six-month term, with the opportunity to extend that term and hours if agreeable to all parties and funding availability.
Location: Florida, flexible. The director will work predominantly from home with some travel required for board meetings, conferences and other meetings as needed.
Summary of essential duties

Meet with the executive board weekly via an evening Zoom meeting.

Assist executive board in planning monthly board meetings, including the annual board retreat, and provide reminders and materials to LEEF board members.

Develop and maintain a donor database and donor stewardship.

Assist LEEF action teams/committees in their work by maintaining contact with chairs and providing assistance and guidance as needed.

Provide follow-through on board and organization activities as needed.

Assist in developing communication plan and other planning efforts supporting strategic goals.

Assist with conference planning and implementation to provide continuity of conference traditions and quality.

Work to increase memberships in the organization.

Coordinate and manage grant writing, annual appeals, sponsorships, and other fund development efforts.

Maintain website, outreach materials, and all social media platforms.

Design and develop marketing plans, materials and exhibits for the organization.

Report routinely to the LEEF president and monthly to the Board of Directors.

Act as liaison to NAAEE, SEEA and other organizations; attend scheduled phone/Zoom meetings with these organizations
Minimum Requirements:
Passion for the mission of the organization. Ability to work well independently, remotely and as part of a team. Strong networking, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent writer with strong spelling, grammar, typing and organizational skills with attention to detail. Must reside in Florida and have the ability to work from home (or another location), provide own access to internet, computer, phone and be able to travel for meetings and conferences, etc. Some nights, weekends and travel will be required.
BS or BA or equivalent background in nonprofit management, fund development, public relations, marketing, business, or an environmental, natural resource or education related field is preferred. Ability to grow in the job with the capacity to infuse the organization with energy and creativity.

Knowledge of and experience with advocacy, organizing, media relations, and public relations

Related non-profit experience with a track record of increased responsibility including working with and reporting to boards of directors; ability to show high level of performance, leadership, and creativity; and supervisory experience

Ability to think strategically and to plan, implement, and evaluate new and existing programs focused on key priorities within organization mission, goals, and resources

Collaborative, team-oriented work style balanced with ability to make timely executive decisions

Experience creating effective working relationships with other organizations and agencies

Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with back-end website and database management
Compensation: $18,000 - $20,000/year; negotiable.
