Docent Coordinator
The Education Specialist I, is responsible for screening applicants, reciting when necessary, ensure compliance, schedule lectures and outings for all education volunteers. Schedule docents and provide weekly agenda, Provide Training workshops and materials, update Docent manual, maintain hours, and provide daily program supervision.
Program Coordinator
The Education Specialist I, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Whitney’s education programs Day at the Whitney Lab, the Traveling zoo. Duties include facilitating daily operations, coordinating and working closely with local schools on scheduling, curriculum updates and ensure the following of state science standards, email communications with all correspondents, and work closely with Education and Outreach Manager to ensure foundation/grant obligations are met for Traveling Zoo and DAW. Teach within programs when needed.
Activity Coordinator for Summer REU internship Program
This position is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating summer REU program activities, as well as coordinating transportation to activity locations, and work with the administration team and program Principal Investigator to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Education Instructor/Events
This position requires assisting in facilitating and teaching within various outreach programs, Day Camps, tours, events, and training workshops on campus or off. Perform other duties as workload necessitates.
Education Classroom/Wet Lab /Animal husbandry
This position provides supervision over the education room, wet lab, and the care of the animals housed within. This person will supervise over any volunteers working in the wet lab or assisting with animal husbandry.
