Training & Education Coordinator
The CCI Training and Education Coordinator is part of the Stewardship and Field Programs Department (SAF) in The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) Florida Chapter. The position is associated with the Chapter’s Center for Conservation Initiatives (Center/CCI) which is managed by SAF. CCI is a state-wide center of excellence that focuses on supporting conservation through public outreach, education/training, science/strategy, and land stewardship programming at CCI campus preserves across Florida and through online resources and community engagement. CCI campus preserves are Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines Preserve, Disney Wilderness Preserve, Tiger Creek Preserve, and Blowing Rocks Preserve. This position reports to the SAF Department Director who also serves at the CCI Program Director. They will serve on the SAF leadership team. This position’s office location can be flexible (a CCI preserve, partner office, or work from a home office in FL).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The CCI Training and Education Coordinator develops and implements strategic conservation training and education programming for the Center for Conservation Initiatives (CCI) and ensures their work supports the Chapter’s and the Center’s missions. This position will focus on workforce development training as it relates to conservation stewardship practices (e.g. wildland fire, invasive species, restoration, etc.) and develops conservation education programming and materials in collaboration with CCI staff. They work closely with CCI staff and partners to identify training course needs, development, and delivery through in-person, online, or hybrid methods across Florida and beyond. They engage with outside agencies, academia, and NGOs to develop new training partnerships. Depending on their skills and training topic, they may serve as an instructor and/or cadre member with other staff and partners. This position requires travel in support of courses and partnerships. They identify and seek external funding for CCI training and education initiatives through grant opportunities and supports Chapter philanthropy efforts as needed.
