Everglades Adaptation Lesson

 

This 5th grade lesson focuses on the structural and behavioral adaptations in Everglades bird species.

 

Students will compare and contrast adaptations of the Anhinga, Wood Stork, and Osprey, answer reading comprehension questions, and fill out a chart.

Everglades Peat and Marl Soils

 

In this middle school lesson, students will be able to describe why soil is important to an ecosystem, and why peat and marl soils are specifically important to the Everglades ecosystem.

 

Students will also compare and contrast peat and marl soils in a Venn Diagram, and use the reading passage/visuals to answer questions.
