Project AWARE Foundation Grant

The Project AWARE Foundation is committed to the preservation of the aquatic environment and its resources throughout the world through education, advocacy, and action. The Foundation provides grants for the conservation of both marine and freshwater underwater environments, with a focus on coral reefs, shark protection, sustainable fisheries, ecotourism, shoreline cleanups, and aquatic education for children. Grants range up to US $10,000.   In some instances, partial funding may be awarded.

Within these focus areas, projects may include:

  • Public education (formal and informal) 
  • Grass roots conservation and enhancement projects 
  • Environmentally focused research that leads to conservation measures 
  • Public awareness initiatives 
  • Environmental assessment and monitoring projects 
  • Volunteer-support community activism 
The application deadlines are March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15, annually.
