Calvin Center, a year round camp and conference center, was founded over 40 years ago as a ministry of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. Our guests enjoy exploring the vast 548 acre property where there is a 12 acre lake, wooded forest with trails for walking and horseback riding, a large outdoor pool, picnic areas, a prayer labyrinth, climbing wall, high ropes and challenge courses. The Calvin Environmental and Leadership Program (CELP) activities encourage students to use their 5 senses to explore and discover the outdoors, whether it be searching the woods for fungus, wading in the lake to find tadpoles or plants, making pottery, or planting a tree.
There is a variety of meeting and overnight facilities available including a conference lodge, two other large lodges, and four cabins, and several meeting rooms. One of our most popular annual events is the summer camp program for children ages 3-17. Visit our website for descriptions of programs. Calvin Center is an accredited camp of the American Camping Association.

MissionAs a ministry of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, Calvin Center offers a welcoming sanctuary for re-creation and Christian growth.
Calvin Center Programs mission is to offer opportunities for people to try new things and with support and encouragement, take risks in an environment that is safe – physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. Through the experience and reflection, people learn and grow, and are then encouraged to apply their learnings to their everyday life or unique situations.

FeaturesCalvin Center setting is ideal for outdoor activities and education.
Calvin Environmental and Leadership Program (CELP) is an opportunity for students to visit Calvin Center and experience the outdoors that they have learned about in the classroom. CELP consists of blocks of lessons based on the Georgia Curriculum Standards that are designed to compliment their classroom learnings and build on them. CELP activities encourage students to use their 5 senses to explore and discover the outdoors, whether it be searching the woods for fungus, wading in the lake to find tadpoles or plants, making pottery, or planting a tree. The students get dirty and wet as they laugh and learn together.
Underground Railroad is a simulation activity for 4th graders and up which occurs during Black History Month. It offers an opportunity for students to experience what it might have been like for Africans on the middle passage and southern slaves who risked escape to the north.
Global Village is our “place to meet the world”. It consists of 5 different villages representative of life in Haiti, Nicaragua, Palestine, Kenya and a “barrio”. Guests live and work in these villages with all the limitations which offers a chance to prepare them for upcoming mission trips or a chance to experience the limitations and challenges so many people in this world have to cope with every day. Time spent at Global Village is powerful and can be life-changing for many people.
A prayer labyrinth is located lakeside and is a peaceful place for meditation and reflection.
AccessibilityBuildings are wheelchair accessible and trail surfaces are earth, therefore, partially accessible (unpaved roads and paths). Most activities offered at Calvin Center are adaptable to those who experience disabilities. Call to discuss adaptations or programs for individuals with special needs.
AdditionalCalvin Center can accommodate small or large groups, but reservations are necessary to assure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It is recommended that reservations be made as early as possible and there is a deposit required. While Calvin Center is a ministry of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and serves faith-based groups, we also host school groups, corporate, civic and other community groups.
